International Education Program

In 2012, Wego launched an International Education Program for Grade 10-12 students who plan to study abroad in college. Incorporating the strengths of Eastern and Western learning styles, the International Education Program at Wego aims to develop students into compassionate and active global citizens who also possess the wisdom of Chinese traditional culture. As a result of Wego's holistic education programs, students in the International Education Program are all admitted to the top 50 universities in the world.

Starting in 2017, the program expanded to include junior high students (Grade 7 and 8). In 2019, the high school program will start from Grade 9, giving students one more year to better prepare themselves for college.

Honors and AP Courses

For students in the International Education Program, Wego now offers five AP courses to those in 11th and 12th grade, including Calculus BC, Chemistry, Computer Science A (Grade 11 only), Human Geography, and Statistics (Grade 12 only). Honors courses are offered in Composition, Math, Chemistry, and Physics. Wego weights grades for AP or honors courses in the International Education Program.

Community Services

Besides joining volunteer abroad programs, students in the International Education Program also initiate their own activities for communities in Taiwan. They have made cookies and held charity bazaars to raise funds for stray animals; they have performed in hospitals and nursing homes to spread happiness; they have organized summer and winter camps for primary school kids living in rural areas; they have started up a reading club to encourage middle school kids to learn English. "Taking from society and returning to society." What they have done truly reflects the school's mission.

Senior Project Presentations

Students in the International Education Program need to complete a project in their senior year. The topics vary from literature, art, movies, math, and engineering, to history, philosophy, and global issues. Through organizing a presentation at the end of the school year, students learn to lead, communicate, and cooperate with their classmates. It is also a chance for them to show their potential and creativity.
