National Curriculum Program (Local Program)

Wego education focuses on natural sciences, social studies, math, English, and Chinese, and provides honors courses to meet the needs of all students. Through the outdoor Mountain Program, volunteer activities, humanities courses, and arts programs offered by Taipei National University of the Arts, Wego helps students to develop into well-rounded individuals.

In Wego, 85% of graduates go to local universities while the other 15% attend overseas ones. Every year, around 40% of the graduates go to either National Taiwan University (No. 1 in Taiwan) or medical schools, and 70% of them get admissions to the top 5 universities in Taiwan.

Elite Education

Under the national curriculum program, about 30% of the students are selected to join the math and science honors class. Besides regular courses, Wego offers three advanced math and science research classes for them, challenging them to develop their potential and helping them to realize their dreams. Each year, the math and science honors classes organize their own event, presenting their research projects to the public. Wego also cooperates with National Yang-Ming University and Taipei Medical University, giving students opportunities to get hands-on experience in medicine and biological research.

ESL Classes

The English education in Wego has become a model in Taiwan. The ESL program was established in 1994, offering an authentic English learning environment for students to develop cooperation, communication, and analytical skills. Starting in 7th grade, students in the local program have ESL classes 2 to 3 times a week. The class size is about 15 students, providing sufficient opportunities for each student to practice listening and speaking skills. Wego also holds an English singing competition, an English drama contest, the Taipei Cicero English Debate Tournament, and ESL honors class presentations to encourage students to use English in real life.

Elective Courses

To provide more rounded education, Wego started to offer elective courses for students in 11th grade. From Model United Nations, international affairs, and statistics, to computer programming, biological sampling, and physical training, students can not only explore fields outside the traditional subjects but also get a better understanding of particular majors in college or career areas.
